Obituary of William G. Otis William G. Otis, 78, of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday, August 23 at Oswego Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1939, in Fulton, a son to the late Mahlon Otis and Barbara Youngs Hall. Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., serving from 1956-1961. He was a member of the Hannibal American Legion Post #1552, I.O.O.B. Club #3991 and Ancient Order of Hibernians Club in Oswego. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. He is survived by his long time companion, Karen Shear of Oswego; four children, Lisa Otis of Oswego, Michael (Annie Hoyt) Otis of Hannibal, Mark (Vicki) Otis of Hannibal and Lori Motyka of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nancy (Milton) Baldwin, Lenna Otis, Christine (Dennis) Knopp and Renee (John) Goss as well as several nieces and nephews. It was Bill’s request that there were no calling hours or service. The family has asked for everyone to raise a glass in memory of Bill.
