Obituary of Timothy F. Grant Timothy F. Grant, 67, of Oswego, passed away on Monday, February 5 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Oswego on September 6, 1950. In 1968 Tim graduated from Oswego High School and was then a graduate of SUNY Oswego. His passion early in life his was music beginning in the mid 1960’s with the local band, “TG & the Night Ryders.” In the late 1970’s he pursued his love of music in New York City where he perfected his talent on the piano. Tim worked and entertained at numerous places including the elite Lotos Club in Manhattan. Years later, he moved to Newburyport, MA where he continued playing the piano. In 2013, he returned home to Oswego and shared his keyboard talents at a few local places. He was currently employed at the Oswego Hospital, working in the Environmental Services Department. Tim greatly enjoyed his job and always expressed his appreciation and admiration for the special friendships he formed with his co-workers and with the entire staff at the hospital. In addition to his musical talents he most likely will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his unforgettable smile. He had a special way of “brightening the day” and making others smile. Tim was truly a sensitive, caring and gentle man who loved his family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. James Grant; mother, Frances D. Grant; brother, Jamie Grant and nephew, Shamus Heagerty. Surviving are his son, Timothy “TJ” Grant of MA; mother of his son, Michelle Grant of MA; two sisters, Lisa (Joe) Munger and Bridget (Matt) MacDowell; one brother, Brian (Carolyn) Grant; two nieces, Elaina Heagerty and Kaitlyn Grant; one nephew, Brandon Grant and step-mother, Connie Grant. Services will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, has care of the arrangements. His family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion shown by the staff at Oswego Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
