Stephen W. Summerville

Stephen William Summerville, life resident of Hannibal, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Steve was born on January 9, 1955, to the late William and Carol Summerville and graduated from Hannibal Central Highschool, Class of 1973. After high school, he pursued his passion as an automotive body technician and married the love of his life, Rhonda, in 1976. The two of them welcomed their daughter, Maria, in 1979.

Steve loved the great outdoors, enjoying his time hunting and fishing. Archery became his hobby and led him to win 1st place in the Hunter Class- IBO World Championship Tournament in 2000.

Granted “legend” status as “Papa” by his grandsons, Mason and Talon in 2004, Steve was always the biggest fan at his grandkids sporting events. He lived his life working on cars, sharing his knowledge of archery, playing cards, enjoying a cold one at picnics and snowbirding in Florida. Steve will be remembered for his heart of gold and willingness to lend a hand to anyone.

Left to cherish his memory is his heartbroken and beautiful wife, Rhonda Summerville; precious daughter, Maria Zych; honored son-in-law, Tim Zych and grandsons, Mason and Talon Zych; brothers, Bill (Kathy) Summerville, Joel Summerville and Jon (Ann) Summerville, along with many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family and friends.

Calling hours are 4:00pm-7:00pm Friday, October 31, 2025 at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, NY 13074. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the funeral home.
