Sherry Spaulding born on October 29, 1968, in the charming town of Oswego, New York, graced this world with her vibrant spirit and left an indelible mark before passing away peacefully on July 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her devoted friends, who had become her chosen family, Sherry's departure mirrored the grace and strength she carried throughout her life.
The beloved daughter of Larry and Donna Spaulding, she was welcomed into a family that cherished close bonds. Though Sherry was predeceased by her loving wife Lynda-Rae, her parents, and her brothers Ted and Terry, she leaves behind her Aunt Jean Spaulding Buske, Uncle Dave Carosella, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became family, spread from New York to South Carolina, Florida, and beyond.
A proud graduate of G Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, NY, class of 1984, Sherry shone brightly as an athlete, becoming a stalwart of the varsity softball team for four years. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her warmth and kindness, qualities that would later define her career and personal life.
Sherry's career was a testament to her dedication and leadership. She excelled in delivering Enterprise Asset Management solutions across various business segments, ultimately serving as Vice President at GHD Consulting. In 2014, she achieved one of her proudest accomplishments by bringing her entire team of consultants to Advoco, creating a professional family that cherished her guidance and friendship.
Her heart was as expansive as her professional achievements, actively supporting her communities with generosity and a zest for life. Sherry's passion for gathering friends was evident in the lively social events she hosted at her homes in Syracuse and Little Sodus Bay, as well as her winter retreat in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Each gathering was a celebration of life, complete with delicious food, delightful music, and joyful pontoon boat rides.
Sherry's enthusiasm for life extended to her love of travel, particularly her annual vacations to Aruba. There, her infectious smile and open heart welcomed new friends into her ever-growing circle. She was a devoted fan of the Syracuse Orange, Buffalo Bills, and New York Yankees, cheering for her teams with the same fervor she brought to every aspect of her life.
Her love for her beagles, Milo and Mysty, was boundless, and they returned her affection with their playful antics and loyal companionship. Mysty, known for her discerning side-eye, held a special place in Sherry's home and heart.
Sherry's warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the laughter, memories, and stories shared by those who loved her deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Sherry's memory to causes she held dear.
Sherry lived large and embraced life fully, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to inspire and uplift those fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence. Her spirit remains alive in the hearts of many, a testament to a life beautifully and generously lived.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairview (Bundyville) Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and brothers. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
