Obituary of Sharon A. Poyneer Sharon A. Poyneer, 76, of Oswego, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Oswego Hospital. She was born in 1944, in Fulton, a daughter to the late Harry and Ruth Stewart Shatrau. Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Fulton High School. She had many different places of employment including, Sealright Company, J.C. Penney and The Valley News. Sharon was a Notary Public for the State of New York for over 30 years and was a member of the Eastern Stars for over 20 years. She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Poyneer; grandson, Gabriel Poyneer; nephew, Paul M. Scriber; two brothers, Robert and Donald Shatrau; three brothers-in-law, Warren Rockwood, Harry Rose and Chris Scriber and one sister-in-law, Yvonne Shatrau. Sharon is survived by her two sons, Patrick (Lorrie) Poyneer of Fulton and Matthew (Paula) Poyneer of Port Byron; two step-children, Kimberlee (Tim) Doyle and Jon (Jean) Poyneer; four sisters, Vaughnda (Gary) Larson of West Virginia, Helena Rose-Rockwood of Lysander, Linda Scriber of Oswego and Brenda Shatrau of Oswego; Five brothers, Richard (Sue) Shatrau of Fulton, Mike (Karen) Shatrau of Oswego, Peter Shatrau of Pulaski, Timothy (Michelle) Shatrau of Oswego and Christopher (Denise) Shatrau of Oswego; one brother-in-law, Jan (Charlene) Poyneer of Fulton; 11 grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. For those wishing, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation in Sharon’s memory. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, has care of arrangements.
