Obituary of Ruth Kellogg Stowell Ruth Kellogg Stowell, 89, of Bowens Corners, passed away on Sunday, May 20th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Born in Hannibal she lived in the Bowens Corners-Fulton area most of her life. She was the daughter of the late, Gertrude Cox and Howard Kellogg. Ruth had worked at the Stowell family owned Triangle Dairy Bar, Prowda’s and the Royal Oak Restaurant all in Fulton and her Kellogg family’s Clover Farms Grocery Store in Hannibal. She was a long-time member of the Bowens Corners United Methodist Church and active in many church groups, and a former member of the Red Hat Society. Ruth enjoyed her family, sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, entertaining and traveling. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Stowell in 2018, brother, Roger Kellogg in 2008 and sister-in-law, Louise Kellogg in 2018. Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Clifford Stowell of Bowens Corners; children, Karen Stowell of Lowville, Larry (Susan) Stowell of Marietta, GA and Dawn Stowell of Oswego; grandsons, Aaron (Jennifer) Stowell and Adam (Gwynne) Stowell; great grandchildren, Brooke, Alexandra Ruth, Emily and Lana and a brother, Wayne Kellogg of Oswego and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24th at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street in Fulton. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25th at Bowens Corners United Methodist Church, 758 Route 176, Fulton with burial at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, 706 East Broadway in Fulton. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at DaVita CNY Dialysis Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Seneca Hill Manor for their wonderful care. Memorial gifts are encouraged to be made to the DaVita CNY Dialysis Center, 910 Erie Blvd. East, Syracuse, NY 13210 or to Bowens Corners United Methodist Church.
