Ronald P. Foster, 78, of Fulton, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born in Fulton, he was a son to the late Clifford and Ruth (Anderson) Foster. Ron was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School then went on to serve in the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer, retiring after 21 years. Following his military service, he retired a second time from the Fulton City School District. Ron was an avid Civil War enthusiast who participated in reenactments including the filming of the movie Gettysburg. He was a member of the NSSA (North South Skirmish Association) and 32nd degree mason of the Hiram Lodge #136. Foster would also share his Civil War expertise through presentations at many of the Central New York schools. He spent his retirement years reading and enjoying cigars. Ron was predeceased by his parents, sister, Sharon, and his brother, Paul.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Cynthia; three sons, Adam, David (Tammy), and Peter; grandson, Nicholas; sister, Carol; two nephews, Hal Pryor and Eric Pryor.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2 with a service to immediately follow at 6 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3 at Mt. Adnah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paws Across Oswego County, 10 Klocks Corner Rd. Building 2, Oswego NY 13126.
