Robert O. Doss

Obituary of Robert O. Doss September 18, 2016 Robert O. Doss, 96, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at New York State Veteran’s Home of Oxford. Born in Syracuse, he had lived the Kirkville area since 1960. He retired in 1979 from Continental Can Company in Syracuse after more than 35 years. Bob enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He was an active member of Believer’s Chapel in Canastota. Bob was a Navy veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, former Harriet Hamilton, who passed away in 2014 and his daughter, Donna Heagle who passed away in 2010. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his children, Bonnie Shepardson of MN, Gloria (Rob) Lanning of Hannibal, Ernie (Tina) Harp of VA, George (Mary) Harp of Taberg, Robert A. (Jill) Doss of Chittenango and Heidi (David) Lupi of Chittenango; a nephew, James (Ann) Doss of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2 at Believer’s Chapel, 2657 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota, NY 13032.
