Richard E. Welch

Richard E. Welch of Phoenix, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at home. Born August 03, 1936, Fulton, NY, he was the son of the late Clifford & Gertrude Welch. He worked well over 20 years at Great Bear Apple Orchard and retired from GE/Lockheed Martin with 38 years of service.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy and his sisters Linda Welch & Janet Welch.

Surviving are his sister, Joan Welch of West Monroe, NY; three children, Ronald (Norma) Welch of Kannapolis, NC, Gerald Welch of Phoenix, NY, and Connie (Randall) Hoyt of Cato, NY.; six grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Erin, Randy, Cody and Katie and a few great-grandchildren.

Richard loved spending his time outside and working on his old tractors and going to square dancing. In respect to Richard’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at Jacksonville Rural Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
