Obituary of Richard E. Cronk July 21, 2016 Richard “Dick” E. Cronk, 84, of Palermo, passed away on Thursday, July 21at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. A native of Fulton, he had resided in Hannibal and the Fulton-Palermo area. Dick retired as a fire dispatch operator after 25 years with Oswego County Fire Control. He previously worked at Nestle Company, Johnson’s Hardware, Town Highway Departments in Palermo and Hannibal and as a driver for McFee Ambulance. Dick was a former member of the Hannibal and Granby Volunteer Fire Departments. He was an avid Yankees baseball and #48 Jimmie Johnson NASCAR race fan and enjoyed mowing lawns, hunting and fishing. Dick made macramé chairs, wooden signs and lamps. He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Hazel Cronk, brother, Elwin Cronk, sister, Lois Cox and his former wife, Dorothy June Cronk. Surviving are his longtime companion, Marlene Cook; children, Sandy (Dan) Holtz, Alan (Terri) Cronk and Bob (Heidi) Cronk; step-children, Lorna (Doug) Swarts, Jamie and Brian Kerney, and John and Eric Cook; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 25 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the funeral home with burial and fireman’s honors at Hannibal Village Cemetery, West Street in Hannibal.
