Obituary of Patrick J. Smith, Jr. Patrick “Scooter” Smith, Jr., 62, of Fulton, passed into God’s loving arms on Saturday, November 11 after a lengthy battle with cancer at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 21, 1955 to Patrick J. Smith, Sr. and Claudette Huard Smith. The eldest of six children, he graduated in 1973 from G. Ray Bodley High School, Fulton. Scooter was a Pipefitter at Interface Solutions until his retirement in 2014. He was a communicant of The Church of the Holy Trinity in Fulton. Scooter was a head coach for many years for both boys and girls Fulton Youth Hockey teams. He was a member of the Tuesday Night Men’s Golf League at Battle Island. A fan of all sports, Scooter was a Yankee fan, a Buffalo Sabres fan and above all else a Notre Dame Football fan. Scooter is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Beth Orr Smith; his children, Erin Smith, Kate (Patrick) Milligan and Patrick W. (Sarah) Smith; grandsons, Mitchell, Cameron and Riley; his parents, Patrick and Claudette Smith; siblings, Michael (Becca) Smith, Kim (Jeff) Johnson, Kelly (Jay) LeVea, Kathy (Michael) Amodie and Jim (Deborah) Smith; parents-in-law, Bill and Mary Orr and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 14 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, corner of Rochester and South Third Streets, Fulton.
