Obituary of Michael J. Whelsky December 23, 2016 Michael J. Whelsky, Jr., 77, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, December 23 at home. Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late, Michael Whelsky, Sr. and Anna May Steltz Whelsky and lived in the Fulton area most of his life. He attended Hannibal High School and served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1962. Mike was a licensed master electrician and owned E M Electric, Inc. in Fulton for 40 years. He was an avid hiker and proud to be a ADK 46er and Finger Lakes Trail End to Ender. Reading had been another passion of his. Mike was predeceased by two brothers, Hibert “Skip” and Edward “Eddie” Whelsky and a sister-in-law, Sharon Whelsky all in 2015. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Patterson of Fulton; a daughter, Joanne (Richard) Ladd of Fulton; stepsons, Sean (Kara) Patterson of Liverpool and Matthew (Melisa) Patterson of Solvay; grandchildren, Gavin and Connor Ladd, Destinee Hurson, Briar, Saryn, Story, Madelynn and Shane Patterson; sisters, Anna Alnut, Ardell (Larry) Austin and Bonnie Clark; brother, Richard Whelsky; many nieces, nephews and longtime employee and friend, Fred Lunn. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 6 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton with services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7 at the funeral home.
