Michael Ross Mirabito, 78, of Garden Grove, CA, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. He was born February 11, 1948, in Fulton, and was a member of G. Ray Bodley High School’s first graduating class in 1966. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College in 1970 before entering the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, Michael began a successful career in the reinsurance industry, from which he retired two decades ago.
Michael loved his life in Southern California. He would often share pictures and videos while enjoying the Pacific Ocean from “his benches” at Seal Beach and Laguna Beach. He was passionate about family history, loved visiting Italy, and could recite from memory who was who on the more than century-old extended family tree. Michael also treasured his many friendships. His circle of friends stretched from childhood through his professional career and beyond, and he took great pleasure in staying connected with them and visiting whenever he could.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Pauline Mirabito. He is survived by his siblings, David (Debbie) Mirabito, Marcia (Joe) Munk, Jerome (Beth) Mirabito, and Roger (Pam) Mirabito; his nieces and nephews, Melissa (Munk) Elliott, Hope Mirabito, Lydia Mirabito, Elizabeth Mirabito, Abbey (Mirabito) and Sean Stevens; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brittany Elliott, Camron Clear, Logan Stevens, Cliff Stevens, and Oliver Stevens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, October 31st at Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo Street, Fulton, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a monetary donation to the thrift store at Oswego County Catholic Charities, 808 West Broadway, Fulton, NY 13069, named “Pauline’s Closet” in honor of Michael’s mother.
