Obituary of May F. Stratton May F. Stratton, 90, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Luke Health Services. Mrs. Stratton retired in 1962 from General Electric Company in Liverpool after ten years. She had also worked at Birdseye Division of General Foods in Fulton. Mrs. Stratton attended the Mexico Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Mexico Senior Citizen Club. She was a country and western singer and yodeler with her husband, “Tex Stratton” and performed at several local square dances, social engagements, church functions, hospital and nursing homes. Mrs. Stratton also performed on W.S.C.P. and W.Z.Z.Z. radio stations. She is predeceased by her husband, Leslie “Tex” C. Stratton; two sons, Douglas Haskins and Larry Haskins; four brothers, Seth, Floyd, Ben and August Loomis and one sister, Hattie Stoughtenger. Surviving are her daughter, Rhonda Cronk of Mexico; three sons, Gordon Haskins of Mexico, Francis (JoAnn) Loomis of Fulton and Leonard (Barbara) Merritt of Virginia; step-daughter, Roxanne Gotezman of Lyons; two sisters, Pearl House and Vivian Burnett both of Fulton as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Richland. For those wishing, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association of CNY in Mrs. Stratton’s memory.
