Mabel V. Truax, 67, of Fulton, passed away Monday, July 13th, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital following a brief and complicated illness. Mabel was born in Fulton, a daughter to the late Robert and Mabel Kimball. She was raised in Fulton and graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in 1977. Mabel worked for the Fulton City School District for 16 years before her retirement in 2024. She was a past president of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary, Post 569. She enjoyed playing bingo, travelling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mabel was exceptionally good at bowling in her childhood and young adult life and would bowl in as many as three leagues at a time in Fulton. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Mabel was the beloved wife of the late Steven J. Truax before his passing in 2013. She is also predeceased by her brother Bobby Kimball who passed in 2021.
Mabel is survived by her two sons, Raymond (Coleen) and Daniel Wahl; one sister, Shannon (Darrell) Bond; four brothers, William Kimball, Dennis (Rose) Kimball, Jack (Debbie) Kimball, and Mark Kimball; a stepbrother, Gary (Denise) Caprin; two grandchildren, Alexander and Scarlett Wahl, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family plans on gathering privately to honor her memory. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
