Lucille M. Sponable, 101, of Oswego, formerly of Martville, passed away after a brief illness on October 31, 2025 at Oswego Hospital. She was born to the late Elton and Clara White in Syracuse, NY. Lucille was a dedicated mother and homemaker, raising five children. She was a member of the First United Church of Fulton for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Clark Sponable; husbands, Allyn Sponable and Harley Brown; brothers, Robert, Leonard, Lyle, Gordon, Clayton “Gerald” and Erwin White; sisters, Florence McAleer, Edna Chapman, Charlotte Tobin, Janet “Sue” Bonaccio and Dorothy Haney.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Joyce) Brown, Daryl “Dee” Brown, Janice (Brad) Coolidge and David (Lori) Sponable; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tammy Sponable; sister-in-law, Annette White as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm with a service to follow at 1:00pm in Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, NY 13069. Burial will follow in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lucille’s memory may be made to the First United Church of Fulton, 33 South Third St., Fulton, NY 13069.
