It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry A. Marcellus Sr., 79, of Volney, NY on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.
Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
He worked hard all his life, beginning with working on his family's farm as a young boy, and progressing on to various other hard labor jobs through the years. He eventually retired from Oswego Laborers Local #214/Syracuse #633 after many years as a construction laborer. He wasn't afraid of hard work and had an amazing work ethic.
Larry was proud and honest with a good sense of humor and outgoing personality. He loved to fish and hunt, but mostly fishing in later years (though he didn't get to do as much of that as he would have liked). Larry and his wife, Linda, liked to take time on the weekends to get out and go for a drive for the day and just enjoy the scenery and being with each other. On numerous occasions over the years, people commented on his beautiful white hair & beard and likened him to Kenny Rogers.
Larry was predeceased in death by his parents, Maurice A. and Thelma (Gordinier) Marcellus, also brothers, Maurice (Sonny) and Gerald Marcellus, sisters Peggy Commando, Julia Versailles and Norma Decontie.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda (Babcock) Marcellus. His sons Jayme, Adam, Larry Jr. (April), and Mark (Kellie) Marcellus his daughters Crystal (Robert) Mallette and Tonya (Tori Tibbits) Patton, also a brother, Douglas (Debbie) Marcellus. Grandchildren are: Kameryn, and Liam, Rayden, Tacora, Markis, Lara, Mckenzie, Abrielle, Cassandra Marcellus, Nathan and Christopher Ames, and Tucker Tibbits. Also several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In respect of Larry’s wishes there will be no services. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
