Judy T. Prosser

Judy T. Prosser, aged 73, of Hannibal, NY passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born near Mooers, NY to Roger and Grace (Stinson) Tyrell. Judy was predeceased by her father, Roger.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gordon Prosser; mother, Grace Tyrell; siblings, John (Sharon) Tyrell, Joan (Bob) Garrand, and June (Mark) McCann; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Judy was a 1969 graduate of Mooers Central School and received her accounting degree at Clarkson College in 1973. After graduating she worked at Ernst & Ernst in Syracuse and earned her CPA. She went on to work at Neal O’Brien Building Supply in Oswego NY and then as CFO at the Rescue Mission in Syracuse where she retired after 20 years of service. After retirement Judy worked part time at the Oswego County Board of Elections.

Judy enjoyed giving back to her community. She led her Girl Scout troop from Juniors through Ambassador scouts and was President of the Girl Scout Council. She donated her time and expertise to Dollars for Scholars, the Hannibal Library Board, the Oswego County Democratic Committee and the Country Cruizers among many others.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with Gordie. She was the family historian and loved researching her genealogy. Judy was an endless resource and help to all family members with no expectation of anything in return. She was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Judy’s name to Girl Scouts NYPENN Pathways or Hannibal Dollars for Scholars.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm with a service to follow at 6pm at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY 13069. Judy will be laid to rest in Mt.
