John R. Stellingwerf

John Stellingwerf, 58, of Fulton, passed away from a motorcycle accident on September 7, 2026.

Growing up on the family dairy farm, John was self-employed most of his life, as a truck driver delivering feed to dairy farmers and later on going back to his roots as a dairy farmer himself where he instilled a deep sense of responsibility, tenacity, strong work ethic and resourcefulness in his kids. Most recently John worked at the Oswego County Airport which gave him the freedom to go on family vacations, day trips and weekend getaways with his wife and kids who were his pride and joy and who will cherish those memories throughout the hard upcoming days and weeks ahead.

Most importantly, John will be remembered for his strong faith in God which gives his family peace knowing he is not suffering and we will see him again.

John is predeceased by his sister, Carol, his grandparents and aunts.

John is survived by his wife, Klara Stellingwerf, children, Andrew, Daniel and Rachel Stellingwerf, his parents, Richard (Nancy) Stellingwerf and Jackie Stellingwerf, siblings, Martin (Raye) Stellingwerf, Rick (Julie) Stellingwerf and Jason (Katrina) Stellingwerf, his in-laws, Thomas and Dorothy Dickinson, brothers in law Karl (Julia Ebner) Dickinson and Edward (Jes) Dickinson along with many nieces and nephews who loved coming to Uncle John and Aunt Klara’s for all different adventures, tractor rides and sleepovers. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, September 18 from 5pm- 6pm with a service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY 13069.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lamson Road Community Church, 2259 Lamson Road, Phoenix, NY 13135.
