Obituary of John O. Richards John O. Richards, 85, of Adams, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Hospice of Jefferson County in Watertown. He was born on August 5, 1932, in Oswego, a son to the late Nelson and Stella Featherley Richards. John retired from International Paper, formerly Hammermill Paper, in Oswego, after more than 35 years of service. John was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Adams. He was predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Henry Richards and one sister, Ruth Last. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen; five children, Dianne (“Hoppy”) Hopkins of Florida, John (Diane) Richards of Oswego, Cynthia (Jeff) Germain of Florida, Jeane (Dean) Ganskop of Williamson and Fred (Heather) Richards of Oswego; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, November 24 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 25 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2912 State Route 48, Minetto.
