Joanne "Judy" M. (Samson) Bracy Dirk

Joanne “Judy” M. (Samson) Bracy Dirk, age 88 of Mexico, NY passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at home with her family by her side.

Judy was born in Fulton, NY to the late, George and Evelyn (Brennan) Samson in 1936. Judy spent most of her life in Mexico with her family.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald F. Bracy and her second husband, Freeman “Jim” Dirk; siblings, Mary Evelyn Caprin, Jackie Samson, Peg Foraker, Ronnie Samson, Franny Samson, Tommy Samson, Robert Samson, Brian Samson, Gen Rupert, and Michele Parrish; and stepchildren, Connie Cory, Jimmy Dirk, Tim Dirk and Kevin Dirk.

Judy is survived by her loving sons, Ronald (Vicky) Bracy and Ken (Janice) Bracy; step-children, Donald Bracy, Gary Dirk, Sandy O’Dwyer, Pam Dienhoffer, Lisa Cussen; sister, Honore (Bill) Lyons; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Judy was a dedicated LPN and Respiratory Therapist with Oswego Hospital for many years. She retired from Oswego Health Department after many years of service. She loved spending time with her family, especially her Wednesday family night dinners and living with her grandson, Aaron. She enjoyed shopping and a good sale, and her casino trips with her son. Judy was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend special thanks to everyone who helped Judy in her times of need and care to fulfill Judy’s wishes; Jennifer Parrish, Dr. Marie Castillo and staff, Dr. Ram and staff and Hospice of CNY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11am-1pm with a funeral service to follow at 1pm at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY. Judy will be laid to rest with her beloved first husband, Donald Bracy at St. Peter Cemetery & Mausoleum, Oswego, NY on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10am.
