Obituary of Joanne E. Cardinali Joanne E. Cardinali, 81, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Oswego Hospital. She was born in 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter to the late Alfred and Adaline Bohnsack Kimpel. Joanne was a member of the Fulton Alliance Church for 50 years, a Deaconess and involved in mission work. She was a town clerk in Volney and loved working the polls. Some of her favorite past times were games, puzzles, knitting, crocheting and cross stitching. Joanne was a loving mother and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth G. MacDowell; second husband, Elmer Cardinali and sister, Jill VerHage. Joanne will be greatly missed and forever loved by her three children, Mary “Peg” Roach of Oswego, Andy (Pam) MacDowell of South Carolina and Matthew (Bridget) MacDowell of Rochester; five grandchildren, Jason H. (Emily) Roach, Aaron N. (Cathleen) Roach, Kate (Nate) Zakariasen, Connor MacDowell and Matthew MacDowell, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Haviland, Everly, Lucas, Bella and one on the way; two sisters, Jacquie Ambrose and Judy (Barry) Failor; step-daughter, Colleen Stewart as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 NY-48, Fulton. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton in the spring. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, has care of arrangements.
