Obituary of James E. Strough May 24, 2015 James E. Strough, Sr., 82, of Volney, passed away Sunday, May 24 at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Syracuse, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fulton to the late Melvin J. and Gwendolyn G. Wettering Strough, he had lived in the area his entire life. He was a member of Believers’ Chapel Fulton. Jimmie was both a fan and track champion participant in auto racing during the 1950s and 1960s at Oswego and Fulton speedways. He also enjoyed hunting with his family. Jimmie was an active member of the Teamsters Local 317. James was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 2012; sister, Patricia J. Truesdale; brother, Melvin W. Strough; son-in-law, Thomas F. Hughes; step-daughter, Ann M. Bonacorsi; and step-daughter-in-law, Gerry Vivlemore. Jimmie will be greatly missed and forever loved by his brother, Jeffrey (Peni) Strough; daughters, Darlene S. Hughes and April D. (Bruce D.) Casilio; son, James E. (Pat) Strough; step-sons, Raymond E. Jr. and Mark D. (Barb) Vivlemore; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
