James F. Demars

James F. Demars, a devoted Catholic, loving husband and father, grandfather and proud Marine, passed away at the age of 70, on Friday, September 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Watertown, New York, on April 23, 1956, to James Edward Demars and Katharine Demars, James was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, New York. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he formed lasting friendships and carried the values of honor, loyalty, and service throughout his life.

James later enjoyed a fulfilling career with Lockheed Martin before retiring. He was a faithful member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Liverpool, New York. James was a sports fan who loved his Seattle Seahawks. An avid bowler, he found joy in staying active and was a familiar face at Lakeview Lanes. He especially treasured the enduring friendships he made during high school and his years in the Marine Corps.

James was preceded in death by parents James & Katharine Demars & sister Mary (Lyle) Walts.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 26 years, Linda Demars, his brother Joseph (Roxanne) Demars, his cousin Debbie (Don) Sholett and his children, Christopher (Leah) Demars, Jennifer (Chris) Kent, Jammie (David) Smith, Melissa (Frank) Reis, and Jacob (Bridget) Rodriguez. James was also a proud grandfather to Aiden, Nathaniel, Jonah, Bradley, Katharine, Clayton, Faith, Liam, Cora, Callen, Frankie, Fiona, Lenny, and Bella Luna.

He will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to his family and friends, and, of course, his love for those Seahawks. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10AM at Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo, Street, Fulton. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
