James “Jimmy” C. Blum, a lifelong resident of Oswego, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on August 17, 1959, Jimmy was raised in the heart of Oswego where he would eventually establish his roots and family.

Jimmy spent his professional life as a dedicated member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 58 in Syracuse, where his skill and commitment to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was proud to contribute to a trade that he held close to his heart and cherished the camaraderie he found in his union.

His personal life was marked by his love for the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or golfing, Jimmy found joy and relaxation in the simple pleasures of nature. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, where his kindness, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Jimmy leaves behind a loving family who will celebrate his life and carry forward his legacy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gail E. Blum of Oswego; his beloved children, Danielle Blum and Michael Blum; and his cherished grandchildren, Autumn (Nicholas) Burrescia and Summer (Matthew Slezak) Kennedy. He was also the proud great-grandfather to Lyrah and Callum Burrescia.
