Obituary of Gretchen F. Rowe Gretchen Foster Rowe, 71, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Luke Health Services. She was a graduate of Fulton High School and Cazenovia College. Her work career included employment at First Trust and Deposit Bank, Niagara Mohawk and A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital, but her favorite work was a foster mother nurturing many children in her home. Gretchen was a very loving and caring person whose life was always about supporting and helping others. She lived a life with joy and courage despite many challenges along the way. Gretchen was a much-loved sister who lost her brother, Bobby in 1972; a devoted daughter who cared for her father in his final years, and a loving partner for 24 years to her “Joe.” She will be dearly missed by the many lives whoshe touched with her kindness. Gretchen was predeceased by her parents, Mary Shaver Foster and Dr. Ralph Foster of Fulton. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving partner, Joseph Pawlewitz of Oswego; sister, Carolyn Broadbent of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Dr. Raymond Foster of Pawlet, VT; aunt, Jane Shaver of Fulton; uncle, Horace Foster of Star Lake as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many many friends.
