Gregory W. Hartranft

Gregory W. Hartranft, 73, of Volney, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Fulton, he was a son to the late Kenneth and Margaret (Rennes) Hartranft. Greg worked as a line supervisor for National Grid, retiring after 38 years. He was a Volney Town board member for over 25 years; including positions as the Deputy Town Supervisor and Town Supervisor for the past 2 years. Greg enjoyed woodworking and would often spend his free time volunteering at Black Creek Animal Clinic and as a coach for local football and wrestling teams. He will always be remembered for his willingness to help anybody who needed it and would be sure to bring his tools. He was predeceased by his brother, John in 2017.

Surviving are his wife, Dawne (Cipriano) Hartranft; five children, Gregory (Richelle), Margie (Lou), Becky (Dave), Kim, and Nate; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Mel), Donna (Chuck), Michelle (Mike), and Claire; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 11-2 pm on Saturday, March 4 ^th at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Black Creek Animal Clinic, 2899 County Route 57, Fulton, NY 13069 in Greg’s memory.
