Francis J. Hess

Francis “John” J. Hess, 85, of Fulton passed away November 5, 2023.  He was born to the late Fergus and Harriet Hess in Port Huron, MI, where he resided for many years, operating a Cities Service gas station.  John then moved to Watertown, NY, where he worked at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital and later retired in 1997 from F.W. Woolworths.

John enjoyed being outdoors fishing and going to casino and playing bingo, with his best friend Richard.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Cecilia; brothers, Frank, Earl, Phillip, Henry, and George, and sister, Harriet Chapman.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, John (LuCinda) Hess, Tammy (Joseph) Rivera and Thomas (Lisa) Sweet; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Loretta, Tammy, Richard, Christopher, Shane, John Jr., Kristeen, David and seven other grandchildren, along with 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Elmwood Cemetery, Adams, NY.  Foster Funeral Home, Fulton has care of arrangements.
