Obituary of Floyd N. Carley October 12, 2014 Floyd N. Carley, 87, of Hannibal, passed away on Sunday, October 12 at Morningstar Care Center in Oswego. A native of Orient, Iowa, he resided in the Hannibal area most of his life. Floyd retired in 1992 as a press operator at Jefferson-Smurfit in Fulton after 33 years. He was a former member of the Hannibal Volunteer Fire Company and had served in the U. S. Army from 1945 to 1947. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Erb Carley; a daughter, Judy Blanchard; a grand-daughter, Connie Gombas and a sister, Ellen Pitcher. Surviving are his beloved children, Barbara (Mark) Hough of Charlotte, NC, Susan (John) Gombas of Hannibal, Linda (Damen) Morrell of Oswego, Floyd (Darlene) Carley of Fulton, Debbie (Jon) Cardinali of Hannibal and William (James Van Norman) Carley of Hannibal; a brother, Kenneth Carley of Hannibal; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 15 at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street in Hannibal. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, October 16 at the funeral home with burial and military rites at Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.
