Obituary of Evelyn Irene Hammond November 5, 2016 Evelyn Irene Hammond, 81, of Fulton passed away November 5, 2016 at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton after a long illness. Born in Parowan, Utah, Evelyn was a 1953 graduate of Fulton High School. She held many jobs at Sealright, Birdseye, Syroco and retired as a machine operator at Nestle’s after 25 years. Evelyn enjoyed fishing with her first mate Maurice often on the lake. She also spent many hours playing cards with her family and friends along with cooking, sewing and spending time in her flower garden tending to her roses. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Ernest VanGorder Sr and Florence Crowell Russell and was also predeceased by her sister Rose Perrigo and brother Ernest VanGorder Jr. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Maurice Hammond of Fulton; four children, Sue (Dennis Latz) West of Weedsport, Rebecca Taylor of Hannibal, Randy (Christine) Buenzow of Mims, FL and Peter Hammond of Sodus; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 11 from Noon until 2 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Michaud for all of their help and support during her stay and for the wonderful care that Evelyn received.
