Ellen E. Sheeley

Ellen E. Sheeley, age 91 of Oswego, NY, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Born on Sunday, July 21st, 1935, to the late Raymond and Ruth Bidwell. Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Vernon Sheeley, Jr. and her sister, Rita Fitzsimmons.

Ellen served CNY as a Real Estate agent then retired after 25 years of service. Ellen and Vern loved traveling, bowling, golfing, and snowmobiling. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Above all else Ellen loved her family including daughters, Kathleen Dean (Robert Holt) and Amy Ferkel; sister, Sue (John) Garofalo; grandchildren, Zachary (Laura) Roberts and Ryan (Kylie) Roberts, Matthew Eagen, Nolan Ferkel; and special family friend, Jim Carroll; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Francis of Oswego and Seneca Manor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10AM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St, Fulton, NY 13069. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton where Ellen will be laid to rest with her beloved Vern. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
