Obituary of Elisa Ascenzi Elisa Ascenzi, 97, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Oswego Hospital three weeks before her 98th birthday. Born in Veroli, Italy, Elisa lived in Fulton most of her life. She retired from Fiorini Bakery in Fulton after many years as a baker and was well known for her Italian cookies made lovingly and expertly for family and friends. In addition to baking, Elisa enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening. She was a communicant of The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Fulton which is now Holy Trinity Parish. Her husband, Gioacchino “Jack” Ascenzi predeceased her in 1991. Surviving are her children, daughters Maria (Fred) Kent of Hannibal, Amelia (Joe) Iaboni of Italy, Maria Salome (Sam) Ascenzi and Assunta (Joe) Lisi of Toronto, Canada; sons, Joseph (Cheryl) Ascenzi and Robert (Marian) Ascenzi of Minetto, Dante (Donna) Ascenzi of Baldwinsville and John (Karell) Ascenzi of Tennessee; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; and a sister, Rosa Renzi of Italy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Holy Trinity Parish, corner of Rochester and South Third Streets in Fulton, NY. Entombment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum, East River Road in Oswego, NY. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a favorite charity in Elisa’s name. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, NY has care of the arrangements.
