Elaine A. Stone, 82, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, July 13, 2026, following a brief battle with pneumonia, just one day shy of her 83rd birthday.
Born on July 14, 1943, in Fulton, New York, Elaine was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mildred Dibble. She grew up in Hannibal, where she developed the unwavering honesty, strong-willed spirit, and deep love for family that would define her life.
Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Ronald Stone, and her cherished son-in-law, Frank Vincent.
Elaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a remarkable talent for creating beautiful handmade crafts, looked forward to bowling nights with friends, faithfully watched NASCAR races every Sunday, and treasured the companionship of her beloved cat. Above all, Elaine loved spending time with her family, who meant the world to her.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Karen Vincent (the late Frank Vincent) of Hannibal, Lisa Stone (Jeffery) of Fulton, and Kevin Stone (Nancy) of Maine. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Ronald March (Jenna), Nicholas March (Amanda), Steven Vincent (Heather), Aaron Vincent, Austin Vincent, and Jessie Rittenhouse (Kevin). Elaine was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Kendall, Bentley, Bailey, Braylon, Isabella, Brinley, Berkley, Mila, Lucas, Ethan, Richard, Harper, Finnegan, Molly, and Bailey, each of whom brought her tremendous pride and happiness.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ira Union (White) Cemetery, where Elaine will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oswego County Humane Society in honor of Elaine’s love for animals. To leave a special message for the family, please sign the guestbook.
