Obituary of Edwin M. Baron Edwin M. Baron, 95, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 12, 2017, at Oswego Hospital. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was a generous, compassionate man. Edwin was born in Fulton, NY, on April 4, 1922, to the late William and Mary Denkos Baron. He was a 1940 graduate of Fulton High School. Edwin served during World War II with the 101st Airborne Division US Army as an infantryman and messenger, fighting in Normandy, Bastogne, Holland, and Alsace-Lorraine, earning a bronze star. He returned home to work at Nestle Company for 45 years. Edwin married Carmen Heppell on May 22, 1954, in Immaculate Conception Church. Their love lasted through sickness and health for 62 years. His most treasured times were spent with his wife and family and his granddaughter, Jillian, brought him great joy. Edwin was a bowler, a loyal Yankee fan, and he followed SU football and basketball. He enjoyed trips to the casino, woodworking, gardening, plastic canvas needlework and making Christmas stars. Edwin was predeceased by his sisters, Nell Hogan and Josephine Wojtowitz; brothers, Walter and Donald Baron; and son-in-law, Pasquale Caramanna. Surviving are his wife, Carmen; their son, Edward Baron; daughter, Lorraine Caramanna; granddaughter, Jillian Rose Caramanna; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Holy Trinity Church, corner of Rochester and South Third streets, Fulton, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, to follow.
