It is with our deepest sorrow that the family informs you that our beloved mother, Edna Mae Hoffman (Allen), 85, of Hannibal, passed away on February 11, 2026, at home with her family by her side. She has gone to the Lord after a lengthy illness. She will be at peace now to join her high school sweetheart and husband, Dick Hoffman, in the wonderful light of Heaven. Her life has been full and she savored much; good friends, good times, laughter and touched many hearts. She will be deeply missed.

She was born in Fulton, NY to the late George and Isabel Allen where she was a lifelong resident.

Edna was a dedicated teacher for 32 years in various school districts. She retired from the Fulton City School District, where she taught for many years at Lanigan Elementary School, in Fulton, N.Y. She received the Teachers Excellent Award and Who’s Who Among Americas’ Teachers. She was adored and influenced students over her many years of teaching. Edna enjoyed spending time at her camp in Osceola. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family camping, boating, and snowmobiling.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and God has set her free.

Edna leaves behind her loving children, Susan (Shawn) Conner, Shari (Steve) Gordon and Steven Hoffman; grandchildren, Nicole Birdsell (Cody Espaniola), Kristy Ketcham (Miles Cowles), Shawn (Alexandra) Conner Jr. and Shane Conner ; Step Grandchildren, Steve (Amy) Gordon and Alex (Nikki) Gordon; two great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Everly Cowles; eight siblings, Donnie (Valerie) Allen, Bruce (Debbie) Allen, David Allen (Deb Lawrence), Bonnie (Richard) Kitts, Carol (AL) Barber, Terry Merritt (Nancy Sullivan), Connie Marino (Jeff Myers) and Crystal Lockwood; In-laws, Judy (Herm) Harold and Robert Simko; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Edna was predeceased by the love of her life, Dick Hoffman; brothers, George Allen and Gerald Allen; sister, Sally Allen; and Daughter In-Law, Donna Simko.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street in Hannibal. A Mass of Holy Communion will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 931 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, N.Y. Burial will be held in the spring.
