Douglas "Doug" W. Edwards

Douglas “Doug” W. Edwards, age 84 of Hannibal, NY passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born in Fulton, NY to the late William and Shirley (Fogg) Edwards. Doug was a graduate of Fulton High School and then resided in Hannibal for most of his life.

Doug was a member of the Fulton and Oswego Alliance Church and served as head usher for many years. He retired from Niagara Mohawk/National Grid after 38 years of dedicated service. Doug also served as a board member for Empower Federal Credit Union. He was very proud of his time spent as a special deputy for the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department. Doug was also an Army Reservist.

Lover of model trains, western movies, desserts, and his pets; he had several border collies and huskies over the years.

Doug leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 39 years, Linda Edwards; stepdaughter, Lori (Jim) Reitmeier; grandchildren, Jacob (Jordynn) Reitmeier, and Holly Reitmeier; great-grandson, Lucas Reitmeier; brother David Edwards; nephews, David and Daniel; and cousin, Robert Jr. (Karen) Weeden.

A loving and devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, Doug will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Douglas’ name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 11am to 1pm with a funeral service to follow at 1pm at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, NY.
