Obituary of Delos O. Rowlee Delos O. Rowlee, 86 of Oswego passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Veteran’s Hospital. Born in Scriba, a son to the late Oron and Grace Huntington Rowlee. Delos was a graduate of Oswego High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, after returning home he started work in the office at Sealright for many years, then as a computer programmer for Syracuse University leaving to work on his wife’s father’s farm in Volney. Once the farm was sold, he went back to work as a custodian for Mexico Academy School. Delos was a member of the American Legion Post 486, Minetto and worked as the editor and publisher of their newsletter since 1982. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 418, Phoenix. Delos was a talented piano player, playing the organ at North Volney and Mt. Pleasant Church. He was a member of the South Scriba United Methodist Church until they closed, playing the piano and organ there too. He is predeceased by his sister, Louise Sovocool. Delos is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Sweet Rowlee; two children, Lynn (Garry) Visconti and David Rowlee; brother, Charles Rowlee; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm on Monday, July 8 with a funeral service at 11am on Tuesday, July 9 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial will be in North Scriba Union Cemetery, County Route 1, Scriba.
