Debra J. (Bennett) Litzan, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, surrounded by those closest to her. Born on March 22nd, 1955, in her hometown of Fulton, New York, Debra lived a life full of laughter, warmth, and generosity, always surrounded by her cherished family.
Debra worked as a dedicated factory worker at Syroco Inc. in Baldwinsville, New York, where she was known for her strong work ethic and camaraderie among her colleagues. Outside of work, she was a spirited soul who enjoyed thrifting, playing all her online games and sharing recipes. Debra had a knack for cooking and was a master in the kitchen, delighting her family with homemade recipes and baked goods, crafted with love and care.
A woman of keen wit, Debra was known for her lively and humorous spirit, always ready with a witty comment or joke, endearing her to all who knew her. Her home was often filled with laughter, thanks in part to her quick sense of humor and the joy of her beloved cats, who were never far from her side.
Debra is survived by her loving children: Jennifer L. Bennett, Tina M. Bennett, Jessica J. Bennett, John W. Wight and Michael J. Bennett. Her legacy lives on in her 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who each held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her siblings: Arthur Bennett Jr., Cynthia Havens, Elaine Bennett, Andrew Bennett, and Lisa (Dominick) DeRoberts, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her parents, Arthur Bennett Sr. and Marilyn Bennett, and her brother, Jeffrey Bennett, precede her in death. Debra's spirit and love continue to inspire and uplift the family and friends she so deeply cherished.
A celebration of Debra’s life will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm at the West Side Tavern, 320 W 1st St S, Fulton, NY 13069.
The family invites those who wish to remember Debra to leave a special message to sign the guestbook.
Debra will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her; her strong and caring presence will remain with us forever.
