The family of David Leigh Ives of Fulton, NY is saddened to announce his passing on June 15, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
David was born on June 8, 1950 in Fulton, NY to Amos Howard Ives and Georgia Grace (Peckham) Ives.
David graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in 1968 and went directly into the workforce. He spent the majority of his career in the custodial department of SUNY Oswego until his retirement.
David found peace in the natural world. A defender of all creatures and a hobby gardener, David spent countless hours tending to his plants and the animals in his home. Believing deeply in the body’s natural wisdom, he also dedicated much of his life to holistic healthcare, always seeking wellness through nature’s remedies.
David frequently volunteered at local animal shelters and was a member of the CNY Cat Coalition.
David’s family remembers his sense of humor, love of bad jokes, and gag gifts. He had an incredible memory and loved to share details of Ives family history to anyone who would listen. He was fiercely loyal to the ones he loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Remaining to cherish David’s memory are siblings; Bonita Woodward and Steve [Deana] Ives; nieces and nephews; Julie Fowler, Derek Ives, Jada [Scott] Spinner, Mariah Dumont, and Ike [Rachel] Ives; and many grand-nieces and nephews.
