Constance J. Hourihan, 80, of Oswego, passed away on June 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Oswego.
Born on April 7, 1945, in Malone, NY, Constance was the 10th of 11 children born to the late Vernon and Marjorie Richards. She was predeceased by brothers Vernon, Douglas, and Jack Richards and sister Beverly Gillette. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry M. Hourihan, with whom she shared a love of camping with family and friends.
Constance worked at Soule Road Middle School in Liverpool as a teacher’s aide. She was an avid walker and enjoyed reading books. Her greatest joy came from her grandsons, whom she adored and loved deeply.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Kari) Hourihan of Fulton, and Todd (Lacey) Hourihan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandsons Sage Hourihan of Michigan, Bailey Hourihan of Pennsylvania, and Major and Tucker Hourihan of Oklahoma; and her companion, Bill Gillette of Rochester. She is also survived by her siblings Wanda Boyce, Betty Mackey, Etta (Bill) Mackey, Gary Richards, Audrey (Jack) O’Reilly, and Janet (Jerry) Ellis, along with many nieces and nephews.
The Hourihan family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated nurses and aides on the 7th floor of St. Luke’s Nursing Home for their unwavering compassion and care over the past two years. Your kindness meant the world to Constance and to those who loved her.
Calling hours will be held at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY on Thursday, June 12th from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. with a service to immediately follow at 5 p.m.
