It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cindy Marie Reynolds, who departed this world on May 21, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on January 5, 1976, in Oswego Hospital, Cindy's life was a testament to the beauty of love, patience, and unwavering dedication to her family and passions.

Cindy was the cherished daughter of Melody V. Mann and Vernon H. Cook Jr., both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved sister, Coralee G. Cook. Raised in a nurturing environment, Cindy learned the values of love, kindness, and integrity. Her childhood is also the birthplace of her devotion to the Christian faith that she would later carry throughout her life.

Cindy's journey was marked by her exceptional intelligence and thirst for knowledge. She was a proud graduate of Cayuga Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in criminal justice with a specialization in corrections. Her love for language and literature drove her to flourish as an English Major, showcasing her talent through mastery of calligraphy and an artistic flair that extended into her passion for interior design. Cindy's home was a reflection of her creativity, where several pieces of her home decor was adorned with her own hand-drawn tapestries and handmade art, transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary expressions of her spirit.

In addition to her academic achievements, Cindy found fulfillment in her career as a Cosmetologist at JC Penney in Oswego, New York, where she dedicated 20 years of her life to making others feel beautiful and loved. Tragically, health issues ultimately curtailed her career, but her spirit remained unbroken and unwavering.

Cindy was a devoted partner to Johnathan Northrup, with whom she shared 16 beautiful years. Their journey, filled with love and companionship, began in 2009 and continued until her untimely passing. Together, they faced life’s challenges with God’s grace, unity, and an unbridled hope.

As a mother, Cindy demonstrated remarkable patience and love. Though she never bore children of her own, she embraced her sister's children as her own, raising them with unmatched tenderness and care. Though she was a devoted Christian herself, she allowed her children to seek their own spiritual identity through her loving guidance. Her sons and daughters, Shiane Schuster, Elizabeth Cook, and Alexander Cook, along with her son-in-law, Mason Schuster, were the light of her life. Cindy's nurturing soul extended to her partner, John, who, along with her siblings Mindy Wallace and Shawn Wallace, and her beloved nieces Alyssa and Lexxi Wallace, will forever hold her memory close.

Cindy was blessed with five grandchildren, and her heart swelled with joy each time she was surrounded by their laughter and affection. Her family was everything to her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Cindy's hobbies reflected her multifaceted personality. She had an insatiable curiosity for criminal investigations, often delving deep into the intricacies of how the mind works. Her home adorned with religious crucifixes and Christian decor. Her artistic talents were not confined to her home; they spilled over into every aspect of her life, making those around her feel inspired and uplifted.

In the words of those who loved her, Cindy was the most caring and loving person you could ever meet. Her empathetic nature and unwavering loyalty made her the cornerstone of her family and a source of inspiration for all who were fortunate enough to know her. With an expansive vocabulary and an intelligent mind, she was often the brightest person in the room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Cindy's funeral needs were attentively taken care of by Foster Funeral Home and there will be no services.

As we remember Cindy Marie Reynolds, let us celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose kindness, love, and artistry will forever echo in our hearts. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy of love will continue to flourish in God’s love and in those she leaves behind.
