Charles P. Meeker

Charles Patrick Meeker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on Sunday, March 17th, 1935, in Fulton, New York, Charles was a cherished resident of Minetto, NY, where he spent the majority of his life.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Gail Elaine Meeker, of Oswego, NY. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Christopher (Lisa) Meeker, Michelle Mills-McClave, Yolanda (Paul Whittaker) Langdon, Leonard (Wanda) Langdon, Alice (Charles) Somerville, and Lois (Robert) McNabb. He was a proud grandfather to Kristen (Scott), Lindsay (James), Alexis (Chad), Cameron (Amanda), Hayley (Dylan), Harper, Angus, Ralph Jr. (Melissa), Paul Jr., Amy (Shawn), Elizabeth (Greg), Leonard III (Jennifer), Rebecca (Brandon), Alfred III (Alicia), Alicia (Bradley), Coleen (Raymond), Kaiden, and Rocco, and a great-grandfather to 31 great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Isabella Meeker, his siblings Frederick, Harold, Gerald, Evelyn, and Beverly, and his grandchild, David Hicks.

Charles was a dedicated employee of Oswego County Opportunities in Fulton, NY, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement at the age of 79, never missing a single day of work. A lifelong learner, Charles taught himself to read, write, and master mathematics. He was also a talented cartoonist and owned an autobody shop, Universal Collision, for many years. His passion for charter fishing, spending time at the casino and coin collecting, as a past member of the Coin Collector Club in Fulton, NY, brought him great joy. Charles embodied the spirit of "The Art of the Deal" in all his endeavors.
