Charles “Bummer” Gillette, 85, passed away at home on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

A proud veteran, Bummer served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned a rifle marksmanship badge. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to his trade as a union painter with Local 38. Together with his wife, he also owned and operated The Airport Inn. Outside of work, Bummer was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his son, Eddie.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; granddaughter, Emily; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Academy, Ryan, and Eddie; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, September 11th at 5:00 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge, 57 Pierce Drive, Fulton. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
