Charles R. Blount

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Richard Blount, 86, of Fulton, NY, who departed this life on Monday, January 12, 2026. Born in Syracuse, Charles embodied the spirit of dedication and service throughout his life.

Charles was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara Blount, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage before her passing. Together, they created a beautiful family and nurtured a legacy of love and faith. Predeceased by his children, Kathleen Green and Kenneth Blount, Charles’s family was his pride and joy.

A proud resident of Fulton, Charles built a distinguished career as a Mechanical Forensic Inspector at UTC Carrier in Syracuse, dedicating 37 years to the company. His meticulous work and integrity set a high standard, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Charles's commitment to service extended beyond his professional life. He offered his time and talents to Compassionate Care Hospice and the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, serving in roles that included Trustee Chairman, Executive Board Member, Christian Service Brigade Leader, and Deacon. His passion for helping others was further demonstrated through a humanitarian trip to Guatemala, where he brought hope and kindness to those in need.

Family was the cornerstone of Charles's life. He is survived by his dedicated daughters, Alice G. (David) Lamb and Linda J. (Wayne) Atkisson, both of Fulton, NY. His loving sister, Donna (Gordon) Lyons, carries forward their shared memories. Charles leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren, a multitude of great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Cecil and Alice Grace Blount, and his siblings, Helen, Barbara, and James Blount.

Charles invested countless moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving them with lessons of kindness and the importance of faith and family. His warmth and wisdom touched all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

A memorial service celebrating Charles’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 NY-48, Fulton, NY 13069 at 10:30 am.
