Carol A. Mills

April 27, 1944 — February 16, 2023

Carol A. Mills, 78, of Oswego, formerly of Delhi, NY passed away at Oswego Hospital on February, 16, 2023 after a short illness.

She grew up in the Cicero/North Syracuse area and went to SUNY Oswego, before marrying her late husband, Clark Mills, Sr. in 1964.  Carol enjoyed fishing, knitting, crocheting and painting.  Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Alice Wellman; brothers, Donald Wellman, David Wellman and Mark Wellman; sister, Patricia Roberts and daughter, Beth Worden.

Carol will be greatly missed by her children, Clark Mills, Jr., Reginald “Reggie” Mills, Raymond Mills and Sandra (Larry) Wilcox; step-children, Nelson Gardener, Brian Mills, Christine Whiteside and Terry (Amanda) Mills; brother, Thomas (Kathleen) Wellman; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 15121 Main St, Downsville, NY 13755. Burial will be at a later date in the spring in the family plot at Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY.  A reception will follow at the Downsville American Legion Post 167, 6622 River Rd, Downsville, NY 13755.
