Obituary of Carl L. Petrie Carl Leo Petrie, Sr., 79, of Palermo, passed away on Wednesday, March 28 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born on April 17, 1938, in Fulton, a son to the late Martin and Margaret Lamb Petrie. Leo served in the US Army for four years. He was an auto and RV mechanic for over 17 years for several dealers in the Fulton and Oswego area and then worked for 19 years at Phoenix Central Schools in the maintenance department. Leo was a founding member of the Palermo SnoGoers, 4-H leader for 25 years and a 44-year member of the Palermo Volunteer Fire Department where he was the Fire Chief for three years. He enjoyed his 1955 Chevrolet, John Deere tractor and helping other people. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan; two children, Carl (Kim) Petrie, Jr. and Tina (Steve) Rogers; four grandchildren, Angie (Shawn) Mills, Robert (Beth) Holsinger, Emma Rogers and Charles Rogers; two great-grandsons, Bryce and Bennett; three step-great-grandsons, Anthony, Jack and Tyler as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. At the convenience of the family burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, Richland.
