Bruce J. Brown

Bruce Jay Brown, 79, of Phoenix, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bruce was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joyce (Dennis) Brown, building a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his three sons, Ronald Brown (Stacey) of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Kennith Brown (Angela) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Scott Brown (Karen) of Phoenix, New York. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren and six treasured great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Bruce is also survived by his sister, Janice Coolidge (Brad); his brothers, Daryl Brown of Central Square, New York, and David Sponable (Lori) of Cato, New York; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clark Sponable; his mother, Lucille Sponable; his father, Harley Brown; and his stepfather, Allyn Sponable.

Above all else, Bruce loved his family. Some of his happiest memories were made during the annual NASCAR trips he shared with his three sons, a tradition they all looked forward to each year. Those weekends together created countless stories, laughter, and memories that will forever be treasured.

Bruce also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He looked forward to meeting his friends for breakfast, where good conversation and laughter were always on the menu. As a proud member of the Granby Seniors, he enjoyed the friendships and sense of community the group provided. Whether spending time with family or friends, Bruce valued the relationships that enriched his life.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 17 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street Fulton, New York. In accordance with Bruce's wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Bruce will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
