Mom's Last Journey
Mom you had your journey. Your walk was stormy at times with some sunny days.
I reflect on your life. We fall, but we get lifted up. God has held your hand.
I walk in the nursing home to see you. It was a long walk. I always say hi to everyone I pass by. When your family walks in to see you, your face lights up.
You loved your Dunkin Donuts coffee made your way.
When I come in to see you, you had that special smile, you would ask do you have some. You loved the coffee caramel candies. They became your favorite. You would say these are so good.
The food there was garbage food.
I love coming to visit you. I journaled, read “Jesus is Calling”, prayed, played cards, your way. I let you win. You wanted me to win too, so I did.
You loved the blanket with all your children on it. Before I would leave, I would rub your back and kiss your forehead. I told you I love you. I did whatever you needed before I left. I told you I would be back tomorrow.
I love you mom, eat and drink. The last day I said I'll be back tomorrow to play cards. I will call you first. So many there loved you.
Mom told me if I am alive. Before I walked out. Mom said I love you and thank you for helping me with everything.
She got knocked down, but got up, she climbed that mountain. She was that senior that graduated in high honors. She received her crown. Your spirit and memories live on. You are still a part of me. I love you momma Eternity.
See you again. Tell them all I said hi and I love them. I'm not saying goodbye but good night. Rest in peace my beautiful mom.
