Barbara A. Lyman, 91, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at home surrounded by her cats on her deceased daughter’s birthday. Born in the Bronx, she was a daughter to the late Louis and Mildred (Swanson) Harrell. She was a graduate of Cornell University and held a position in the Plant Pathology department before moving on to the production line at Nestle Co. Barbara enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, crocheting, tatting, and embroidery. Barbara was a true cat lady and rescued and cared for many strays. She will always be remembered for being a dedicated wife and mother, who supported her daughters with their horses, sheep, and chickens through 4-H. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and her daughter, Kristina Lyman.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathryn (Lee “Tiger” Perry, Jr.) Johnston; her caregiver, Dan (Suzanne Ray) Rogers; and her beloved cats.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue of your choice in Barbara’s memory.
