Obituary of Arlene S. Chesbro Arlene S. Chesbro, 80, of Fulton, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 2nd. Born in Fulton on September 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late, Joseph and Julia Furmanak Sleckowski. Arlene graduated Fulton High School in 1954 and has been on the class reunion committee ever since. She married her husband, Roland F. Chesbro, on June 22, 1957 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fulton and they celebrated their 60th anniversary this past June. Arlene worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Eugene Anthony in Fulton for 17 years. She attended Holy Trinity Parish in Fulton and was a volunteer at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, American Red Cross Blood Bank and Catholic Charities of Oswego County food pantry. Arlene had been a charter member of the Readers by the River reading group and she enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years. Surviving are her husband, Roland F. Chesbro of Fulton; two daughters, Karen (Michael) Holmes of Henrietta and Alison (John) Abbott of Fulton; three grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas Abbott of Fulton and Ryan Holmes of Henrietta; sister-in-law, Gail Chesbro, a niece, Amy Hazard; a nephew, Brad Chesbro; a cousin, Donald Slokowski and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Gordon Chesbro. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 6 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7th at Holy Trinity Parish, corner of Rochester and South Third Streets in Fulton with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
